How you can see your promise coming to pass

Posted: June 4, 2010 in Uncategorized

Couple of days after inviting Jesus into my heart, being prophesied and encouraged, to consistently call upon God( prayer) was the first advice i received from my mentors.

No promise in the bible  came to pass without having been pressed in prayer.  From great revivals to miracles all of them were linked to prayer. God is drawing “all men” towards him with fresh intimacy and removal of religious life style. An uncommon prayer life results in uncommon change.

Time to time i have heard young people asking about how they would see the promise or prophecies being fulfilled. It’s great to know how to listen to the promises but its other thing to know how to bring it to pass. For every promise to be fulfilled there’s a strategy from heaven

Strategy: Jesus said ” You can do NOTHING without ME” – John 15:5

Lets peep into the life of apostles, they were promised to receive the Holy Spirit and power from above and were advised to stay in Jerusalem. No other instructions were given more. Not even a visions of manifestations of the Spirit( That they would hear a sound first or see the fire etc etc) or the  time of the fulfillment . But i see that they had the revelation of “praying  and waiting”.

Elijah the prophet was told by God to prophesy of coming famine, and then we see before the heaven opened  in Isreal, the scipture tells in

1 kings 18′ 1After a long time, in the third year, the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.”

41And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.

43“Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked.

“There is nothing there,” he said.

Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”

44The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.”

45Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.

We see Elijah prays for six times and sees ” nothing” and seventh time ” A cloud as small as a man’s hand”! . I believe Elijah’s prayer life relates to us as well .God did promise Elijah, but the prophet had his part to do as well.

You might have been waiting for too long believing God for a breakthrough, change etc, prayer is the bridge between the promise and the breakthrough. Sadly today people wander from church to church, conference to crusades learning 10 ways to get your miracle, when we know spiritual battle can be fought only through spiritual ways!

When i got saved , the first desire was to see my family come to Jesus. It took 5 long years battle of refusing what the enemy had to say, situations around, impossibilities and i  stuck to the promise weeping and praying till i saw all of them saved and baptized, serving the Lord.

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up”- luke 18:1

I leave you with one principle today’ Keep praying whether you like or not, feel it or not cause prayer is not an option but “the key” to see manifestation of your promise.

Be blessed,

Danston John
