Will you be remembered?

Posted: September 27, 2010 in Uncategorized

Jesus did not die to just save so that we lead an ordinary life. An ordinary life does not need anointing but an extraordinary does. Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are called to face the impossibilities with different perspective altogether, and this time not with our might and strength. We are business partners with God. We dream what God dreams!

Heroes of faith

We have but one life to live and then we are dead and gone. The question is will you be remembered by the next generation?  If you turn your bible to Genesis 5, you will read about the lineage from Adam to Noah. The scripture mentions names after names without going into details of the people. But when it came to Noah, the finger of God stoped! God narrated the story of Noah, because he had done something different! Others had lived an ordinary life and God did not have much to tell! Do you have a story?

Why our generation failed to see the real Christianity?

You see, when Peter got up and preached to the multitudes, healing the sick, prophesying to the broken, the church multiplied even after the wildest persecution and the signs & wonders followed. The people looked up to the leaders of the early church and defined Christianity as a powerful force that could not be stopped! Rather, many tuned to Jesus seeing the unstoppable zeal in the early Christians. But today, we see that the first thing that comes to the minds of unbelievers when you share the gospel, is the religious symbols, the signs, the choir or even WINE (for some). Instead of running to the church with the zeal to worship God and being hungry for Him, people think they are doing a favour by attending church! Some churches have even given up on gifts of the Holy Spirit(healing, gift of tongues etc.) claiming thats gifts no longer operate.  You see, there were no fire brand leaders in that generation that could stand and bring the real message or demonstrate the power of God. Satan has given a deceptive of Christianity to this generation, thats why for many church is a boring place to be. Can you take a stand to change this?

How to?

You can start with simple steps. Initially, identify the needs of the people (healing, financial etc.) and start praying and also let them know about it. At times the miracles go before the message. When they see some changes taking place , they will give their heart and ears to the message. Lead them to the a spirit filled church where they can grow.

The church of Jesus

The first church of Jesus started with 12 disciples who later turned  into the “apostles”. Not one remained as a member. Sadly, there are churches that I’ve been to where pastors are more interested to fill thier pews than filling souls in heaven or raising people for the kingdom! Insecurity among leaders have become the bondage to the sheep who are not allowed to function in what God has deposited in them. Many dreams birth inside the church and get killed too inside the church walls. I dare you to not give upon your dreams. If God has called you, he will JUSTIFY(fight for you), and if he has justified he will glorify you.

I’ve been stopped, stamped, disgraced by several people who I thought I could run for help to, instead they closed their doors on me. Today, by grace alone I minister to thousands in crusades, run monthly city wide revival conferences and have found favour in heart of young people whom I shepherd. If it is God’s dream no man can fight you! Remember it’s never about you it’s about Jesus. Fight the good fight, we have only one life to live so do the best for Jesus!

Ask yourself today: Have I done enough since the day I was saved?

The speaking God!

Posted: September 23, 2010 in Uncategorized

Dear Partners,

One question that i cannot afford to escape from people asking about “hearing the voice of God”. Specially after  the time of prophetic gift  manifestation. I had scores of people asking about the audible one and spiritual one. But does it really matter ? Can one hear the voice of God?  Lets dig in!

During my early Christian days , i had come across lots of dramatic encounters with the Lord, once even hearing audible voice one afternoon while i was taking a nap. It was like thunder (great authority), i woke up and went out to check if someone had summoned me , but no one was at home. I went to my knees praying. But most of the time i hear Him in my Spirit while praying, travelling, eating etc.

The voice God has many forms. It can manifest through visions, dreams or also in direct( personally or through the church). For many God’s voice seems unfamiliar and strange or even scary!

Adam & eve enjoyed hearing God till the time they fell into sin and everything about God looked scary to them. They hid from His very presence. When God called out Adam, they were terrified to hear His same voice that was once pleasant to hear. It was something that Adam and eve  treasured the most at one point of their life. That’s why you see in old testament, people always depended on moses, Elijah and other prophets to hear from God . Even today we hear the same from people who have received Christ as their Lord and saviour and have been under the bondage of same lies. It’s time each of us hear from God for ourselves and make this a habit. God wants to open himself  to us the way He opened with Adam and eve! The fellowship involves listening and talking. The more you obey what He says , the more He talks!

Here’s the secret that i’ve learnt recently from God himself.

Hebrew 3:15 ‘ Today if you hear His voice…..do not harden your heart”

Rev 3:2o ” Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, i will come in….”

Notice that it does not say ‘when you hear my voice” but “IF YOU HEAR” . Which means God is speaking to us every moment. If the scripture would have said “when you hear’ that would have meant God speaks in occasions but thats not true !

The secret of my public prophetic ministry is  hearing God most of the time in private. I cultivated this habit of listening to Him right from my early days of walk with God. Ever since God has led me in  prophesying  names, situations of the people reviving their faith in Him. I remember at one time during one of our evangelistic crusades, middle of my preaching God made me to call names and situation of a young man who involved  in illicit relationship with three women. Hearing the word of God , he ran to the alter giving his life to Jesus . Today he is serving God in that very place!  It’s beautiful to see what God can do when you listen to His voice and obey Him.

How you can enjoy this blessing!

Remember that God has called us into a fellowship which involves talking and listening to Him. When you sit down for prayer or while reading God’s word, expect to hear from Him. It may even cost you to stay away from the noisy atmosphere. Pay full attention to what God is saying. Isolate yourself from distractive places. Obedience follows after listening from Him. Practice this every day!

Start praying for others needs. Expect God to use you to bless them with His word. In return you will find yourself blessed to see how God using you to be His voice to accomplish His divine purpose in lives around you. The voice of God also makes you a blessing!

Jesus said “My sheep hear MY voice ;I know them, and they follow me”-John 10.27

God has plans or your life. He is doing His best to communicate to you in various ways. He is speaking to us every moment.  Would you tune in to His voice today?

Do share your experience and thoughts of hearing God.

Motives are important!

Precious one,

There is a barrier that exists between God and us and thats is Self . Scriptures notifies it as one of the greatest hindrances in our walk with God. Although we receive new nature when we are born again, the new nature still resides in our old flesh and the old self is corrupted and sinful. When our prayers are selfishly motivated we ask God what we want than seeking His perfect will and that hinders God to move.

Several years being serving God, precious Holy Spirit has changed my lifestyle of prayer seeking God’s perfect will in smallest of things to the biggest. That’s what i feel is the spiritual discipline in our lives. I have come to a place where most of my prayer life is taken over by the worship and first enjoying the intimacy with God. Prayer is all about enjoying the intimacy with God and taking pleasure in His leading. There’s a place you and i will be led by the Spirit during such time of intimacy what i call is ‘blessed silence”. Our activities of flesh is put to absolute quiteness and we hear what God has to say in clarity. What grieves God is when we stop acknowledging His power over our weakness and trust in our efforts than His grace!

Many churches emphasize prayer as the key to freedom or favour than enjoying the intimacy with the father. That wrongly inspires people to pray and seek their own and pride begins to take its roots. When Paul and Silas were put in prison, they prayed and praised God. They were just enjoying the intimacy and out of it which came freedom from prison doors! Intimacy with God is the key to all success.

Scripture says in 1 Samuel 16:7: “God looks at the heart…not at the appearance”. This is one of the most dangerous scriptures in the bible. Let me tell you why, If a man prays for a house or a luxury living in order to show off or for the status purpose that motive before man may look good but before God is wrong. If a pastor asks God for a big church inorder to be a super star and not serve the needs of the people or work towards expanding God’s kingdom that motive closes the doors of heaven to shower grace over his life& ministry . If a worship leader seeks to be a celebrity ( personal glory) and not concerned about leading people to God’s presence , there he is running the race without the grace! Poor guy is up for a fall. In everything we do motive should be the first concern and works the second.

Prayer originates from the Holy Spirit. Its His prime activity. The scripture says , He comes to lift Jesus and make Him central in our lives. If our prayer life does not have a goal to lift Jesus but self , this kind of prayer is termed as “praying in the flesh”. Its all in vain. The power of the Spirit is absent. You are praying but all the attention is on you.

Prayer pattern:

Looking at Jesus’s prayer sequence of well know prayer in Mathew 6:9 “Our father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come and your will be done…”. The first set begins with worship( Our father- relationship) and then moves to seeking the will of God( our kingdom come , your will be done) and and then on to personal needs( Give us today our daily bread- forgive our sins-deliver us from temptation). That’s how the Holy Spirit leads. This is how Jesus told his disciples to pray like. He gave them the agenda(pattern) in prayer. Not to begin with us but to start with God.

Scan your motives: When you pray/serve/lead.

1) Would it bring glory to Him?

2) Would it advance His kingdom?

3) Would it help people?

4) Would it help me grow spiritually?

If you have been praying diligently about something and have sensed resistance from heaven , I challenge you to review your prayer. Ask the Lord to forgive you and lead you to His perfect will. The Holy Spirit only works inside God’s will not inside our will and plans. Are your plans falling in line with God’s perfect will? Then you have the Holy Spirit guiding you.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14)

Help me share this to your friends across the globe! Pass this site to as many.

Couple of days after inviting Jesus into my heart, being prophesied and encouraged, to consistently call upon God( prayer) was the first advice i received from my mentors.

No promise in the bible  came to pass without having been pressed in prayer.  From great revivals to miracles all of them were linked to prayer. God is drawing “all men” towards him with fresh intimacy and removal of religious life style. An uncommon prayer life results in uncommon change.

Time to time i have heard young people asking about how they would see the promise or prophecies being fulfilled. It’s great to know how to listen to the promises but its other thing to know how to bring it to pass. For every promise to be fulfilled there’s a strategy from heaven

Strategy: Jesus said ” You can do NOTHING without ME” – John 15:5

Lets peep into the life of apostles, they were promised to receive the Holy Spirit and power from above and were advised to stay in Jerusalem. No other instructions were given more. Not even a visions of manifestations of the Spirit( That they would hear a sound first or see the fire etc etc) or the  time of the fulfillment . But i see that they had the revelation of “praying  and waiting”.

Elijah the prophet was told by God to prophesy of coming famine, and then we see before the heaven opened  in Isreal, the scipture tells in

1 kings 18′ 1After a long time, in the third year, the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.”

41And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.

43“Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked.

“There is nothing there,” he said.

Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”

44The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.”

45Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.

We see Elijah prays for six times and sees ” nothing” and seventh time ” A cloud as small as a man’s hand”! . I believe Elijah’s prayer life relates to us as well .God did promise Elijah, but the prophet had his part to do as well.

You might have been waiting for too long believing God for a breakthrough, change etc, prayer is the bridge between the promise and the breakthrough. Sadly today people wander from church to church, conference to crusades learning 10 ways to get your miracle, when we know spiritual battle can be fought only through spiritual ways!

When i got saved , the first desire was to see my family come to Jesus. It took 5 long years battle of refusing what the enemy had to say, situations around, impossibilities and i  stuck to the promise weeping and praying till i saw all of them saved and baptized, serving the Lord.

Examples:

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up”- luke 18:1

I leave you with one principle today’ Keep praying whether you like or not, feel it or not cause prayer is not an option but “the key” to see manifestation of your promise.

Be blessed,

Danston John

John 6:5When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?”

I was deeply moved when i read the portion of the scripture. The God, the Creator, the sustainer questions about the need to one of His disciples whom they saw upto for a miracle.

Some one said God is my ATM( all time miracle) worker. Well certainly yes! But God looks beyond a miracle. It’s a relationship more than anything. Jesus works greater miracles out of intimacy with him.

Notice this, Jesus had all the power to rain down food from heaven, but he turns to the church( disciples, bride..) . The heart of God moves when he sees the needs of His people even before they approach Him. Next He shares the need to the church. Well, i guess its more than a need , its the passion to serve and carry his burden. God does great things out of our intimacy with Him.

When God wanted to set His people free from the hands of pharaoh , He turned to moses. I believe Jesus is same yesterday , today and forever! He is looking down from heaven the needs of the generation, The Gospel! So many yet 2 witness the love of Jesus, be healed and set freed. More than 100 die and go to hell every minute. This may never concern you but when you look the face of Jesus he is “drenched with tears” This is what i saw in my bed room few years ago. Out of which my ministry began.

God never works alone!

What is your ” five small barley loaves and small fishes” . Prayer? fasting? reaching souls? sleep???finance? There should be something God requires from you before he works out a miracle for people. In my life i have seen “givers ” always being increased in favour.

Jesus knows the condition of our generation, he is turning to YOU!

“How can this generation be SAVED”?

Be blessed now and forever,

Danston John

The Spirit of error!

Posted: April 12, 2010 in Uncategorized

Dear Saints,

Something the Lord recently impressed strongly on my heart about this spirit that shades out the truth and causes blindness among many causing them to fall into the traps of the devil. To begin with i would want you to know about this spirit before we know its functionality.

In 1 John 4-6″ 1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

1. They are of the world

2. They speak of the world

3. Do not hear God but focussed on man made.

Jesus said ” My sheep hear my voice ” . The spirit opposes this voice sometimes imitating the divine. At times we mix the divine and our knowledge and be the reason to spoil the plan of God. We need to know that our thoughts are not His thoughts and neither our ways matching His. His ways always remains higher and bigger.

Now what you mean by “higher” , Is it that i always enjoy every moment when i chose the path of Jesus? Is it that i have no cross to bear?

If you had to walk on the busy streets we see fast foods, instant coffee, make money quickly etc etc. Or mind always gets attracted to such things in order to get away with this slow motion life . Many promise life and prosperity on the way , but almost many get duped at the end. Jesus was too offered a kingly honour before His time , but Jesus fled from this choice. He knew His mission. Jesus said in John 14:6- I am the way…… Now stay there. What “way” . He continued to say something about entering through the narrow road. Jesus is that narrow path. There’s cross before the crown but again end of it we exalt Jesus and not our cross. We need to guard our thought life from false comfort.

This spirit of error mixes our emotions with the divine knowledge and end of it we get confused and depressed. The wisdom from above is pure and not self centered.

Eg: During the time of Smith wigglesworth , there were two lady missionaries who were on fire for the Lord that they would do anything . One of them started to hear a voice that looked so divine and godly but spoke about self exaltation of being a powerful missionary and money matters. She just went her way without listening to the counsel of the Godly. She finally found herself in great grief and pain.

Many leaders opt for fast growth in the ministry seeking favour from men and not from God. We are failing to discern the subtle move of the enemy in these matters. The Holy spirit is called as a teacher not human elevator. God  first teaches us to be humble enough to hear Him and do His will. Our success does not come from the worldly strategies but from divine wisdom.

Why God delays?

T D Jakes (Famous american speaker) once was having his shave and he saw his son from the mirror looking at him. He always feared to show him the shaving razor as he would misuse it some day. Suddenly this amazing thought struck him, how razor at an early age can be a curse in his life, but the right age be useful. How much more our heavenly father knows what he needs to give us and when. Right blessings at wrong time can destroy your life. Waiting brings out the God’s best.

May be you are asking for the blessing for too long years and you have given up praying, God knows the best. Never doubt His love for you. There’s always something good kept for them that love him.

God’s ways: Spirit of error

God seeking                                                                    Self seeking

Seeks God’s will                                                             Seeks His own

Begins with fruit of the                                               Always looks for speedy

Spirit                                                                                  growth

Exalts God                                                                       Exalts himself and the efforts

Humble                                                                             prideful

Waits upon the Lord                                                    Hasteful

How to guard ourselves from this spirit:

In everything you do, check if the Lord Jesus is glorified and not you. Eg: If you happened to get loads of money what would you think of first thing? Is it about how you can be blessed or how you can be a blessing to His kingdom. We need to grow to be kingdom builders not building our own. Check with those thoughts. Keep God in mind whenever you do anything.

How to discern the prophecy and when to act upon it?

Prophecy comes to build us and not to tear us or for self exaltation. Beware of self centered prophecies that always exalts your desires above God’s. Check if it falls inline with the word of God first and then pray about it.

When do we act?

The time of fulfillment comes along with faith , wisdom and strength. Remember that it’s never about you but to exalt Christ. You cant work it with your own strength. Heavenly things needs divine strength that only comes when its time for it to be fulfilled. That’s why the scripture encourages us to wait upon him and renew the strength so that you will fly like an eagle…..” So many faint when they act upon it too early with their own strength. If you havent seen anything come to pass yet, i encourage you to wait on it until the picture gets very cleared. The enemy always pushes but Jesus leads. He mixes the divine with our corrupted knowledge.

I got more to say from my experience, but as of now i encourage you to guard your heart with all your strength against all evil.  God be with you.

Love,

Danston.

Future fears?

Posted: March 12, 2010 in Uncategorized

Hello there,

Blessed to meet you through this blog. Today’s blog goes out to all who fear that one day they would face an hidden or unnoticed dangers of the enemy. Opening the lid of the topic , I am talking about recession, new type of incurable sickness, economical breakdown, natural calamities like the one we had in haiti a month ago. There’s fear in every heart of being a victim of such disaster .

One day an insurance agent asked this what if you had to face a rainy day? Is your roof strong enough to protect you? He was questioning about my financial backup asking of am ready to face future disasters. The whole world today works under fear and in return they face pressure. Fear always leads you to pressure. I dont deny fear. Every strong man fears something or the other.

But that’s exactly not the way God wants our life to function. He died on the cross for all the fears you would be facing. I came across this verse in colossians 3:3 “For you( Jesus) died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God

Long ago i heard about a documentary shot by national geographic channel about deforestation. There was a forest fire due to which many wild animals got killed and they had to fight against the fire the whole night. Early morning some of the crew members head to the spot , everything was destroyed, burnt and smoke everywhere. To their shocking they saw dead bird with wings stretched fully burnt lying inside the nest. One of the crew member took the bird out and found live babies of the bird that had been covered by her wings.

The devil may form and plan million weapons against you, but scripture says God has hidden you from the sight of the enemy! Is’nt this glorious? It’s like you are in battle field and the enemy is all set to attack you and you are invisible from his sight. Technically speaking he can’t find you. The blood of Jesus that was shed for you has covered you and your sins. Satan can’t find any flaws in you. You personal weakness, shame, guilt etc are under His wings of grace. Satan just has an info about your past . But now you are missing and he has no idea about your address!

May you chase out all your fears of your past , present and future events. God is control of your life. Job 28:7-8-“No bird of prey knows that hidden path, no falcon’s eye has seen it, Proud beasts do not set foot on it, and no lion prowls there.”

There’s a place where evil cannot plot against or even enter and that’s the presence of God. Fear is the language of the enemy . Be assured that God has hidden and preserved your life from the darkness.  Even from certain knowledge of sin.

Christ died so that you may have life that rocks! Wings of God has got you covered . Refresh your life with God!

Blessings!
